Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are nearing the end of the second quarter in the school year. The first half of the school year has gone by quickly. We have accomplished many wonderful things as a school. The teachers and students have worked together to ensure the best educational experiences for the students.
At Lakeview we ensure uninterrupted instruction time during Language Arts and Math. We are committed as a faculty and staff to provide the best education for each of the students by being prepared, teaching essential standards and engaging the students in their learning experience.
Some of the great things happening are: We reapplied for the (NEU No Excuses University) and have been accepted for another year. Mr. England held a science fair for the fifth graders. Mrs. Pfister is teaching early morning choir and they performed at the lighting of the Roy City Christmas trees. Mrs. Blume has started an orchestra class. Many great things are happening in education here at our school and we thank all of our great teachers that make them happen.
We support students who can benefit in their reading skills with the help of volunteers from the AmeriCorp program and a partnership with Roy Jr. High’s Latino in Action program. Students get an opportunity to read with volunteers two or more times a week in addition to the time spent in the classroom reading instruction.
We are grateful for the support you give to your children by having them here at school every day, talking with them about what they are learning, and communicating with the teacher so there is a healthy partnership for the child’s educational experience.
Parent teacher conferences are January 29th ,30th and 31st. This will be a great time to come and visit with your child’s teacher.
